Victoria Road Surgery Goes Superhero for Children in Need
This year, Victoria Road Surgery in Acocksgreen embraced the spirit of giving in a truly heroic way to support the annual Children in Need campaign. The team, led by Dr. Parshant Mulu and Dr. Hannah Caruana, donned superhero costumes to bring smiles to their patients-especially the little ones-while raising funds for a great cause.
Children in Need is a cornerstone charity in the UK, providing crucial support to disadvantaged children and young people. Recognizing the importance of this work, the Victoria Road Surgery team not only made a generous donation to the charity but also decided to make their GP practice a little brighter and more fun for a day.
Dr. Caruana and colleagues became real-life superheroes in every sense of the word, transforming the GP surgery into a welcoming and lively environment. “We wanted to make our young patients feel comfortable and show them that a visit to the doctor doesn’t have to be scary,” said Dr.Caruana. “Dressing up was a small effort, but it had such a big impact on the atmosphere here.”
“Supporting Children in Need is something we deeply believe in,” said Dr. Ahmed. “It’s amazing to know that our contribution, however small, is part of a larger effort to transform lives.” Dr. Wilkinson echoed his sentiment, adding, “We are proud to be part of a team that puts community and compassion first.”
The event was a hit with patients of all ages, who were greeted by caped crusaders instead of their usual doctors. The surgery staff’s enthusiasm helped spread awareness about Children in Need’s mission while fostering a sense of community and goodwill.
Ash, the Practice Manager, shared her pride in the team: “I am very proud of my team. My team and I work hard to support our local community in every possible way we can. It’s wonderful to see how much we’ve been able to help raise awareness and make a positive impact.”
Victoria Road Surgery’s participation is a reminder that giving back can take many forms-whether it’s through donations, raising awareness, or simply brightening someone’s day. The team’s efforts prove that sometimes, heroes don’t wear capes-but in this case, they did!
